About Sheesa Beach Travel and Tourism

In 1980, Abdulla Mohammed Al Dhahouri, an Omani fisherman from Sheesa Bay, a remote village in the Musandam, was approached while dropping off his catch at the Dibba Oman port by a group of divers asking to charter his dhow. Abdulla agreed to take this group and continued to do so on occasional Fridays when requested, although his primary focus remained on his fishing.

As the word got around the diving community that diving in the Musandam was world class, demand for Abdulla’s fishing dhow was so great that it became necessary for him to set up a company and obtain a license.  In 1994, Sheesa Beach Travel and Tourism was born and was the first company in Dibba to offer dhow cruises to tourists.

Sheesa Beach Travel and Tourism has grown from strength to strength over the years - what was once a small dhow cruise operation with one converted fishing dhow has now become a thriving business with a fleet of eight dhows, diving speedboats and service boats.  The key to the company’s success has been word of mouth by the thousands of happy customers we have had the honor to welcome onboard our vessels.

In 2009 Sheesa Beach branched out and built the Dibba Plantation Camp, a large permanent campsite in the Musandam, servicing school groups on weekdays and the general public on weekends.  In late 2010 Sheesa Beach Dive Center was launched as a PADI Dive Resort.

Sheesa is now co-owned by Abdulla and his six sons, Saleh, Ibraham, Ahmed, Mohammed, Sulliman and Saeed.  The Al Dhahouri family are passionate about their business and exemplify the epitome of Omani hospitality.
